Tips from great UK golf coaches
Some of the best from the home of golf
This edition of Finding the Tips brings game improvement tips and drills from some of the best YouTube golf coaches based in the UK.
In point of fact, one could make the argument that the granddaddy of YouTube golf coaches is Rick Shiels. He started on YouTube to try and building his golf lesson business. While doing that, though, he become the proprietor of the world’s largest YouTube golf channel (more than 2.9 million subscribers) and one of the most influential people in the world of golf.
Rick also delivers the weekly Rick Shiels Golf Show on YouTube and a golf product review channel that tests the latest equipment. Those two channels boast a combined total of more than half a million subscribers.
The channels featured in this week’s newsletter (Golf Monthly, Chris Ryan Golf, Matt Fryer Golf and Andy Carter Golf) have a total subscribers count of nearly one million.
The highlighted video this week, from Golf Monthly, features Peter Finch. His YouTube golf channel has more than 673,000 subscribers. So, the total YouTube subscriber count for this issue of Finding the Tips is more than 1.6 million.
With numbers that large, it’s easy to understand why influencers like Rick Shiels and the other major YouTube golfers are courted by equipment manufacturers, professional golf tours and major golf tournaments.

My top 5 golf swing tips
Peter Finch is a golf coach and PGA professional with a huge following on YouTube. He is a great player and always provides great tips, drills and advice.
Equally important (in my view), Peter is also someone that just about anyone would enjoy as a golf partner. With his sense of humour and genuine nature, he’s someone with whom you would want to share a pint after the round.
Golf Monthly is a UK-based magazine that also has a YouTube channel. This month, they’ve asked Peter Finch to reveal the following:
The tip or advice he’s given the most
The best swing advice that too many golfers ignore
What your swing thought(s) should be
How to compress irons
How to hit fairway woods off the deck
I’m certain you will appreciate the tips that Peter gives us in this video. I’m equally sure that you are going to love Peter’s presence onscreen. He’s engaging, self-deprecating and funny.
Enjoy!
