Wide swing = D I s t a n c e

This tip is an oldie but a goodie. Michael Breed, the original host of The Golf Fix on the Golf Channel, teaches you how to increase your distance by widening your swing arc.

In this brief clip from one of those programs, he shows us how to use the trail arm to create a swing with a wider arc. That wider arc optimizes contact and gives you more clubhead speed, effortlessly.

Gain distance with irons

Distance is not just about your driver. Who wouldn’t want to hit their irons farther?

Two coaches from GolfTec say the keys to better distance with irons are improved contact, more clubhead speed and a shallower angle of attack.

Brad Skupaka and Nick Clearwater demonstrate how to ensure the low point of your swing is after the ball.

That looks after contact issues.

They also show you how to focus your weight and pressure on your lead knee and foot, while also maximizing the length of your backswing.

That looks after increased speed.

Finally, they show you how to hit the ball hard and then stop the swing immediately after impact.

And that looks after a shallower attack angle.

Mission accomplished.

Dynamic, athletic and long!

Our next tips come from 2022 World Long Drive champion Martin Borgmeier.

He offers three changes to your driver swing that will make it more dynamic and athletic. It will also ramp up your clubhead speed. You may find yourself hitting the ball straighter too!
